    What kinda tin whistle is he using?

    Anyone know what kinda tin whistle he is using or how to find out?

    Hard to tell from the video, but looks to me to be a Clarke certainly has the sound of one...

    Nice. I bought a Sweetone the other day and have been learning some stuff on it, but its kind of a hard trick. The sound in this video is what I would love to emulate. I do realize though some of it comes from his talent/skill. haha

    The one i have has a wooden block rather than the plastic mouthpiece, gives it a more breathy sound (rather than a shrill sound) like the one in the video, so it may be the wooden one... learn with what you have... change later if you want...

    The original... has a wooden block not a wooden mouthpiece though... can see it through the hole in the pics on the website...

    I suspect the victorian is the same, but havent seen one of those before...

    Oh I see what you mean! Yea, the beautiful thing about the instrument is that one can purchase many different kinds and make out like a bandit!

    Fits in your inside pocket too... which makes it useful at a lockin... or after the pub closes and you head back to someones house...

    But the that was a loooooooooooong time ago....

    If you're wanting to look it up, you're looking for a wooden fipple whistle. The player is Liam O'Flynn and he's mostly known for the uilleann pipes so finding any information about what whistles he favours is difficult.

    The sweetone is about the best you can get without paying a lot more for minimal improvement. It's the man, not the instrument. You can't buy years of unrelenting effort....
