If you're going for the 1745 look, there are a couple of problems here:
1.) the sporran with long goat or horse hair is a 19th C. design. Nothing like that was worn pre-1750.
2.) looks like a modern, square belt buckle plate.
3.) odd plaid set-up! You want to belt it on, and let the upper portion hang down. Then, put on waistcoat, jacket, sword-belt, etc. Last step: pin the hanging portion of the plaid to the left shoulder in back, without drawing across the front of your body.
