(with snips or a fine saw) If you can't attach the pin, get someone to do that, bearing in mind the weight it must hold. Why not start out with a 4 inch square of paper- or a square of former beer can aluminum- and get busy scribbling and doodling. Chances are your bride has some ideas...

If you don't think you can manage building your own, why not consider retrofitting one by inserting or attaching something of personal significance in the center, where the yolk of the fried egg would otherwise reside?
