That is really great. I look forward to seeing the completed hose.

If it were me making these hose, I'd use the blue, green and red, and leave out the black on the cuffs. Or, I might make a cable long enough to wrap around the calf out of the red, then pick up stitches along each side of the cable and work a simple blue-and-green checkerboard pattern. The red cable would run horizontally.

The hose look really nice. I'm looking forward to seeing how you decide to finish them.

I know a lot of people who swear by this way of knitting for hose/socks. You also do not get the "one sock syndrome" that way. Personally, however, I'm a fan of double pointed needles and I like to knit one at a time the old fashioned way...toe up or top down, doesn't matter to me and my trusty tape measure!

Can't wait to see the hose!

    90% finished

I made a lot of progress this weekend. I finished one (posted in album) and have almost finished the other.

I put just two colors into the cuff, after all.

Very nicely done! I like the cuff & colors.

After my first pair (and first socks), top down on DPNs, I've become a fan of two at a time on two circular needles. Trying to make sure my rows and decreases came out right was a little nerve-wracking. However keeping an accurate row count is the main thing; hash marks on paper works just fine.

I do like DPNs---recently got a set of the pretty wooden ones, and I'm swatching with them.

Yes! You have a victory with those cuffs.
I've never seen cuff cables worked in two colors, but I really like yours. Don't be surprised if some of us "borrow" the idea for our own cuffs.
