How important is a belt?

For day wear, brown or black matters not. I prefer black and at a guess it is just over two inches wide.

I have no idea about evening kilt belts as I have never owned one(always worn a waist coat as an extra layer is required to keep warm in large highland buildings!) and I am afraid I have not taken much notice of their proportions.

Spring is here, saw our first Swallow a few days ago, and the spring oil seed rape(canola?)is in desperate need of rain other than that, the crops are looking well-----so far.
