Still debating
Not sure yet. I haven't gone kilted to church before, but this might be the perfect excuse.

I'll be wearing my new Matt Newsome knife-pleat in Douglas Weathered that just arrived this week. And yes, I expect to get a pic or two out on the hill.
This isn't quite how I'll look on my sunrise Easter hike tomorrow; actually it was taken a couple of hours ago outside the synagogue where I work. However, this IS the first wearing of the new kilt by Matt:

It works well for me under a chorister's cassock. I basically always wear a kilt to church. XMTS members will understand intuitively that almost any kilt will be cooler than trousers, particularly with layers on top.
I checked the fabric content recently, and my newish cassock is the same blend as the Marton Mills poly-viscose tartan! I'll either wear my 13-oz tank or a USAK PV in the morning. I arrive for Vigil at oh-dark thirty, but it could be 88 °F (30+ °C) before I get home. In other words, much as usual for a late Easter in the Auld South.

That's part of what I had in mind when I first ordered my 5yd casual PV. Summer in a cassock isn't always fun!

Yep. Wore Stephenson Modern with charcoal tweed jacket & vest. I also went kilted to our Christmas Eve service. I think folks now will figure I will be kilted at church for "special" services. A couple of men who are of Scottish heritage are contemplating getting kilts. One of them even has his Father's kilt - but it doesn't fit him. I hope I set a good example.

A Happy Kilted Easter!
Ok - so I grew a pair and had a kilted Easter Sunday today. Aside from a single Burns Dinner (with my daughter), it was my first kilted outing. My kids were thrilled, and my wife a little dubious - but supportive. The reaction at church was very positive, and since I was the only kilted soul there (there's only 2-3 others I've ever seen kilted before) - I had a bit more attention than I'm used to. I'll admit to being a bit nervous when I realized early this morning that I was scheduled to be head-usher this week, but I'd already made the decision and decided to stick with it.
Hopefully, I managed the look - I'll let the Rabble decide. The tank is from Scotweb, the jacket was cut-down by a local tailor, and yes - those are ghillie brogues (sorry, but my kids like them, and I'm weak). I would have preferred a fancier sporran, but Rocky's hasn't arrived yet (to be clear, I ordered it Friday night, and it shipped Sat morning - so it'll be here tomorrow. That's quick!).
Cheers.
