Kilted for Easter
Just a quick pic of my Easter mass outfit. It's a bad angle but you really could see my knees and the top of the hose. The sporran was black leather with silver Celtic designs but that's not visible at this angle either.
Absolutely no comments or strange looks even though the church was packed. Many have seen me kilted at the 9AM mass before but being Easter there were a lot of twice a year people there.

Happy kilted Easter to all!
Good on ya! I wore my argyll jacket with my clan tartan, plaid, Angora sporran, white piper's hose to services last night. Got a compliment from a guy, saying that he doesn't see enough men in kilt outfits these days, and was impressed. Wore the same this morning out to breakfast, only with my Stillwater heavyweight Black Watch (man, that plaid is heavy, barely fits through the epaulet) and got a similar compliment. Going to try and wear the Black Watch most of the day, as we have a family gathering this afternoon, but the argyll's going to be just too warm for this early heat wave.

So Happy Easter cousin,
That tartan looks mighty familiar.

Indeed, that is the MacDonald tartan?
My deacon is of that clan. Working on him. His oldest son is ready to be kilted, as are some of my other BIBLE DRILL guys.
And, yes, my sons will be kilted, with new jackets, for Pascha this coming Sunday.
Happy Easter, y'all.

Not bad. You should consider having a sport coat altered into a kilt jacket, though. Our own Alan H. created a website to show you how. Or, for a few bucks, a tailor or seamstress could do it for you.
Gotta show off the kilt!

I'm going to do that ASAP but I'm still trying to lose some weight. I've dropped from about 285 to 245 over the last 6 or 7 months and I'd really like to get rid of some more belly before going into a kilt jacket.
When I bought this from Scotwebstore it was officially listed as MacDonald Modern (16 oz). There are also about 75 other MacDonalds listed but this is what I found linked to the Kelly's of Ireland. Seemed to be the most appropriate one and I thought it looked nice.
P.s. Looks nice RiverKilt. I've got enough red and my next will probably be branching out into the blues. Maybe an xmarks if the next run becomes available to those of us not involved in the first run.
