Slight hijack here. Much has been said about choosing proper accessories, and how they can complete or even make an outfit. This is clearly seen in Geoff's second picture. The accessory under his right arm, and the expression on her face, reveals choosing done with rare acumen. My hat, sir, is not only off to you, but in a deep, wide, sweeping bow.

I didn't think of that, but they won't have the little square dingers that are on an Argyll or Prince Charlie will they?
    What will be, will be.

And I've decided against a waist plate and coat together.

I just realized that I failed to mention that I have a mind set to wear a fly plaid, any tips or comments?

Most tuxedo rental shops have used gear for sale. Cuff links, studs, shirts and bow ties. The pricing for used items is ofter far below new prices and better suited for the modest budget.
Good luck to you and your girl.

And I kinda like her, as well. We have been together 39 years, and are more in love now than ever. And she thinks I'm sexy as all get out in my kilt!

My preference is to keep my style more simple...so I would not personally wear a fly plaid. There has been some discussion in the forum too as to whether they are necessary--bottom line: it really is your choice. If you like it, wear it. But certainly there is not a "rule".

Although, I would like to draw your attention to Geoff's second picture as others have noted, the best accessory you will have is your date. Wear your outfit properly and you will look smashing (with or without the fly plaid).

And don't forget the rules...we EXPECT pictures afterward

    About the fly plaid:
I would not wear it to the prom. There is quite a bit of fast dancing and commotion...at least in my day. I would be afraid it would get ripped off of the shoulder and tear the jacket.
