Expect to be treated as just another concert goer, because that is what you are. Expect others (Especially pretty girls) to look at you with smiles of admiration. Expect compliments. Most of all, expect to have a good time.

Wear it with pride. If you are skittish or fidgety it will show and attract more negative attention. Don't pick at the kilt. Walk with your head up, look others in the eye. Lots of folks will initially smirk and giggle, but if you look confident they quickly stifle their amusement and it turns into admiration because a kilt looks DAMNED GOOD!

It helps to have a nasty scar on your face, be really muscular, and carry a broadsword :P

You may get asked if you are scottish, what clan it is, and what you wear under it. Have ready answers specific to the questioner, particularly if you are looking for companionship.

Let's see...first, it'd help to know who's playing...(I'd say "Who's on first? but we all know where that's headed...)...obviously there's a difference between the Judy Collins crowd, the Black Keys crowd and the Dokken crowd...(yeah...they're still out there...can't find the umlaut key on the computer just now).

So, expect some "That is SO F-in' cool, dude!", some "Hey, man...ya' freeballin' under there?", some Braveheart comments, some "Oooh, I love a guy in a kilt..." (I'm too old to get that one anymore...especially from Mrs. Argonian)...

Generally, you should get a good reception...we do go on around here about some of the flak we catch when we go out kilted but it's overwhelmingly positive; it's just that the negative experiences make better stories and we air them here just to get some validation...just keep yer head up and proceed with confidence. Mob scene concert situation, I'd expect some dil will try to lift the kilt...don't be surprised, don't react physically, maybe have a witty rejoinder ready although it'd probably be wasted on some wasted screw-up but that's the way it goes...

All in all, I can assure you that you will get a better reception at some head banging concert than I get when I show up at my predominantly Italian-American staffed barber shop...geez, those guys are ridiculous but they give a good haircut.

Hey,,party on...you wouldn't be wearing the kilt to the show if you weren't trying to make a statement (hopefully, that statement is, "I am a proud Celtic Warrior here to party hearty and raise hell!" and not "...all my pants were in the laundry..."...I am sure that you're feeling the former and not the latter). Enjoy the kilted buzz.....
