Aside from yourself, you have some very well dressed friends. Can, or will you elaborate a bit more about the event? Did you celebrate something special?
Skål!
Indeed, a very well dressed group. Wonderful pictures.

Fabulous set of pictures Robert. You both must have had a wonderful time. Glad you got to make some music too. Did you get any other chances to play as well. It would be good one day in the not to distant future to get together and make some music. We really must sort that one out.

A Wee French/Ecosse Story
Bonjour Robert,
Your photos (and the obvious fact that you are French) brought back a delightful memory for me whilst I was in Scotland during the summer of 2007. I had just gotten off the train at Inverness station when I noticed a rather large group of young men and women (probably university students), with what appeared to be several chaperons that were considerably older. Naturally, I was in full Highland day attire and as I walked passed the group, one of the chaperons called out to me asking if the group could take a photo with me.
The chaperon was an older man with a heavy French accent and was wearing a kilt with a Scotland football jersey. He, as well as the entire group of kids and the other chaperons, were extremely cordial and well mannered. We ended up taking several photos before getting the right one! I chatted with the man for a wee bit after the photo and he told me they were from the Brittany region in western France and had great connections with Scotland, which made sense to me at the time. I told him a wee bit of my family story and how my ancestors ended up in America, then we shaked hands and parted ways. The entire experience took only around 20 minutes, but I left the Inverness train station feeling very good inside and thought of that group of French university students from Brittany for the rest of the day. I thought you may find my story quite nice and further demonstrating the unique and often deep-rooted connection between France and Scotland.
Je vous prie d'agréer mes sentiments distingués,

Ivory and silver... an item fit for a Duke.

All great photos but I'm particularly interested in this knife. One doesn't often see sgians with ivory handles... you must really have impressed them with your pipes!
Thanks so much for this splendid photo log

You put me to shame
Robert, your photoset is fantastic and wonderfully depicts the lost culture of Scotland.
I am a native of and still resident in the country and it's puts me to shame that you have visited and shared these beautiful sights of which I am in awe and it enforces my intention to find out more about my clan heritage and visit more of my own country rather than go abroad each year.
I am a novice to wearing the kilt however I think that your outfits are magnificent - thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Regards
Alex
