In 2009, Panache challenged us at XMarks to save up our change and had Josh at Skye Highland Trading order for several us that did these custom made Argyll hose to match the XMarks the Scot tartan.

Last year for a Christmas gift I received these custom Argyll hose from D & D Fiber to match my tank in ancient Malcolm tartan. These are both great pairs of hose!

My favorite summer hose are cotton hose that I get from The Scottish Trading Company. They are perfect for the hot and humid summers here in the south. Besides this red pair, I have them in black, forest and egad, oatmeal! The oatmeal has multi-colored specks in them so they are a little different that the run of the mill crème hose.

It's a lighter & brighter color than the tartan red, but not nearly so orange as the ancient red. Here's another pic:

Here's more info on the hose. They will retail less than the Lewis Hose, but more than the Glenmore.

(If anyone wants to order before they go live on the STM site, just get ahold of me).
    Matt,

How do these compare with the Lewis hose in terms of thickness/quality?

    Cordially,

They compare well to the Glenmore hose line. They are significantly thinner than the Lewis Hose but are still made with high quality yarns. My pair was also long so for those with long legs these might be a good choice.

Well, last night I dreamed that I got some new hose. Does that count?

Sorry to be slightly off topic but can Matt or someone else be kind enough to tell which tartan he is wearing with the Green & Black diced hose in Post #6? Thanks in advance for the help.

    This one?

I believe that is the Mull district tartan, which I assume Matt wears because of the connection to clan MacQuarrie:

Good to see not only Ken’s smart hose, but that his wee lad is also kilted, and in red hose.
