Personally, I've not had too many problems with the wind, and it gets pretty windy in Colorado in the spring! I did have issues with wind when I went to the Grand Canyon and walked out on the bridge... Otherwise, I've found that my 8 yard, 16 oz double box pleat kilt handles most wind rather well.
The snag is most of the guys were in cheapie versions which is wise for a night drinking and generally getting plastered. But cheapie versions catch the breeze more readily. Not that this girlie is complaining, nor are any of my friends...
