Kiltlifter Winds
We've all seen the pics of winds lifting wool and poly kilts....but leather?
My lady just sent her pics from todays adventure in Monument Valley, Utah.
The winds were probably 30 to 40 miles an hour. They were lifting my brown leather Utilikilt with regularity. She caught this shot.
What was weird to me is that the winds would lift the kilt and hold it up like sort of a parachute effect.
To be fair, this was in a narrow sort of chute between rocks so the Venturi effect was increasing the wind speed...but that's where we were hiking to see the Anasazi ruins our Navajo guide had led us too.

If your firewall won't let you see the pic try my gallery, last one in the brown leather UK sub-album

Yep the winds have been a little crazy the past couple of weeks. Looks like a good time though!
I wore my Stillwater this weekend because it was so warm. Anytime I opened the truck door to get in, my kilt would parachute just like your picture.
Just Utah weather for ya. The day after our 80F warm but windy weekend in the desert it snowed. Never know what's coming next this time of year.

Aye Pour1....my exact thoughts. But a leather tutu....? Lets not go there...
And yup John...when I had my pickup the kilts ALWAYS went flying in the wind. Think its because of the fast wind under the body of the truck is just about the right height to blow up under the hemline.

Great picture Ron
Good thing you had on the leather kilt and not one of the ribstop nylon camo Utilikits. Might have blown you right up and over the rock

Great pic, Ron.
It's been nothing but wind, wind, wind here for weeks. First time I ever really had the kilt blow up. I hate wind
