Chicago area Highland Games June 17-18

The 25th Illinois St. Andrew's Society Highland Games will be held June 17-18 in Itasca (note the change of venue from Oakbrook). For more information and tickets click here. I've been going for a few years and always have fun. My nephew James (Seamus here on Xmarks) and I will be attending on Saturday.

Anyone interested in a meetup at the games on Saturday?

Trying to decide if I will be able to make it up to the city this year. My wife will be out of town, and getting a dog sitter will take some doing for the weekend. Keep us updated as to a gathering place in case I can make it.

I know I was able to bring my dog (at the Oakbrook locatioin) as long as I kept him on leash. I'll check to see if we can do this at the new location. I'd like to bring my guy along.

Just checked with the organizers. Dogs are allowed, even welcomed, as long as they are on leash and the owner picks up their waste.

I will be there on Saturday. I am volunteering from 2:30 till 5, so available before and after.

My nephew and I will be there from early until about 2 or 3. I just PM'd Glen C to see if he will be manning the Chisholm tent this year. Hopefully we can get a group together for a meetup. The only time that generally seems to be bad is when they have the parade of the clans during opening ceremonies.

Glen C has offered the Chisholm tent for a meeting place. He's coming down from Wisconsin for the games. I'm trying to determine when the opening ceremonies and parade of the clans will take place so we don't try to schedule the meetup during this time. I'm guessing 10 am or 1 pm might be a good time to meet.

I'm Back!!

After a long time away from the board, I'm back. As most of you from the area know I have moved to far far northern Wisconsin. I will be down again this year for the games, and will be running the Chisholm tent. All are more than welcome to come and hang out, have a beer or a wee dram and catch some shade. Don't be shy! Lets hope we get a break in the weather this year. I've lost alot of weight this year, so if you see some guy walking around with a kilt around his ankles, tell him to pull it up. Oh well, looks like I may have to buy some new ones.
