I remember seeing an article about the construction of this ship but hadn't seen anything about it since. I certainly agree that while living in luxury might be nice I wouldn't want to live stuck on a boat like that all the time. One of those nice place to visit but I sure as he** wouldn't want to live there scenarios.

On the other hand, if you didn't like where you were, you could always set a course for a friendlier port.

I saw a show on it and they said you need about 4 mill to realistically live there. Probably a mill or so for the room and the rest to cover expenses. But I hear a lot of the residents dislike the "tourists" who just rent for a few weeks.
Fortunately I have been on enough cruises to know that I would NEVER want to live on a cruise ship.
Now a nice catamaran yacht on the other hand....

Sounds a lot like condominiums w/ 'homeowners' associations vs. renters, or residential apartment dwellers vs. the business renters (on long-term out-of-town assignments - been there myself).
I personally wouldn't want to live on a ship like that. (Never been on a cruise, but I don't much care for the ocean much, anyway. I've been more than a 10 hour drive away from the nearest coast nearly all of my life.)

The prices are on Wikipedia.
$600,000 USD for a 325/sq. foot "studio" and $20,000/month (and up) for "Homeowners Dues" (meal allowance, staff, etc...)

Cats are a nice way to sail. I've suggested to my wife, that James Wharram's Islander 65, would be a nice way to travel after our last three children are out of school. I won't tell you what she said I could do with my suggestion (at this point, I should mention she hates sailing.)
