"storming through" = visiting a lot of spots over great distances.

Raft trip an excellent choice for sure - someday I'll do that one. Meantime I'm still addicted to Glen Canyon.
Them mountains are the ones I worked inside of in the old Idarado Mine. Used to live in Ouray. If it weren't for Winters I'd probably still be living there.
Just about became a geologist myself from that experience. My late uncle Burke Maxey has a geology building named after him at U of Nevada. He was a geology professor who encouraged me. I was just too young to "get it."
