Do you have any proof or anything to back up that statement? I know alot of of true scots who would disagree with you!

The black watch and the Scots guards have not been allowed to wear the kilt on military manoeuvres since the end of the first world war, and it is military regulation to wear underwear while on parade, so technically the non-wearing of underwear as being some how 'correct' is a complete myth.
Plus, the Black watch regiment was used against the French (Scottish allies) during the 1745 rebellion to help quell the Scottish up rising; one could argue that wearing the black watch tartan is distinctly un-Scottish to begin with.
Not to mention the offense it may cause to an actual Black watch serving or retired soldier, similar to wearing their medals or wearing a green or red beret, if you actually meet a real soldier he may well be a little angry that you are wearing his regimental tartan without you actually putting your own life on the line.
Most people see the black watch as universal, so won't be too bothered to see it worn respectfully
