    Thumbs up Scottish Lion Imports.

    Friends,

I just wanted to share with all of you a recent issue that took place with Scottish Lion Imports and how they proved that true customer satisfaction still is alive and well in business.

I received a recent email advertising that all shipments this week from Scottish Lion were going to be only $6. Of course I took advantage of this great deal. In my neck of the woods, it is difficult to find IRN BRU let alone the diet version of this great drink. So I ordered 3 cases. Well after placing my order I received a email from their customer service department explaining that due to the weight of my purchase there will be an additional surcharge. I replied telling them that there was no mention that certain items were excluded from this special that was offered on their shipping. Usually the shipping charge for this product is half of the cost of the product itself. This is why I placed the order at this time. After explaining my side of the story and my concern for the extra charge I received an email back stating that the company will stand by their word and ship the product to me at the original price quoted.

Now friends, this isn’t a large company like a chain store business. But even though this mistake is costing them a large percentage of what is being charged for the product in the first place, Scottish Lion is standing by their word and making the happiness of their customer the first priority over money. This is hard to find in this day and age. I commend this company for doing this and I HIGHLY recommend that if anyone is in the market for Scottish products to visit their web store. I want to thank them for helping put my faith back into customer relations between business and the consumer. And thank all of you of the X-Marks family for listening to me.

    Happy holiday!

    Slainte!
    Shawn

    Shawn,

I'm glad that things turned out well for you. Can't help feeling, though, that there isn't a certain element of "Gotcha" at work here. Didn't you suspect that this flat rate shipping price would not apply to something as heavy as cases of Irn Bru?

    As you noted, yourself:

Good on them for eating the cost of shipping cans of soda through the mail, despite the fact they might lose money on this sale. I guess they've learned their lesson, though. Next time I'm sure they'll have the annoying disclaimers in place...

Did't know it was that hard to get over the pond.

You do know it is made from wild haggis blood and rusty tractors! plus a secret ingredient!

    Enjoy.

It's very rare here. I've never seen it for sale at any shop.

The only place I think I've ever seen it sold here is at the Bridgeport (West Virginia) Highland Games. There, a Scottish guy shows up every year with a vending truck selling Irn Bru and little else. I drink it all day at those Games. (No alcoholic drinks are permitted there.)

Irn Btu does have a US distributor so many Scottish shops do carry it now, including us at the museum. We sell it by the 6 pack as well as individually by the bottle.

OUCH! - Yes they definitely "took a bath" on that transaction!

Three (3) cases are quite heavy and shipping should have been in the neighborhood of $60+. I assume more than the product itself!

Like you say, this is not a “large company” and I personally feel bad for them. It is too bad but I can’t see them being a generous with their offers in the future!
