It's crazy isn't it RSL ? I cant remember it here at all.

I believe the elevation is around 7500 ft. I'll have to check my hiking guide to be sure though.

    It was a great weekend!

wow that's a bit disheartening there are a few lakes here in the Uinta Mountains
that i trout fish on, (nice two to tree mile hikes to get to them) that are at anywhere, from 9000 to the high 10,000 almost 11,000 foot range, and i can normally start fishing them the second weekend of June. haven't had a chance to even try and head up there this year though. Last year i was not able to fish the lakes till late July, do to still having snow and ice on them.

I've been out of Sacramento since 2002 and while I don't miss it, I DO miss the Sierras. Tahoe's a fantastic place and I did LOTS of camping in Kyburz over the years.

Thanks Derek and John (sorry John, I haven't figured out how to include multiple quotes in the same post yet )

It was a very nice weekend with great weather and some diverse activities. Hopefully one, or both of you , or all four of you as the case may be, will make it this way some day, and I can show you the sights!

    Regards,
    Brooke

Several years ago, in my pre-kilted era, I attended a conference at Squaw Valley in late April. Flew into Reno, rented a car, visited Trukee on the way. After the conference, drove up to Donner Pass, saw the same views as your photos (they bring back memories). Snow was over the railroad snow sheds above Donner Lake. Drove to Lake Tahoe and back to Reno up over Mount Rose where the snow along the road was higher than the car.

Beautiful scenery, a whole lot different than southern CA. I really enjoyed the great photos, but where is the photo of you striking the "Irish Lass" pose in your kilt?
