In reading this thread, I have come to the serious conclusion that both men and women both want the same practical functionality in clothing. I have also changed my opinion on women that wear kilts. I don't think they are taking anything away from us... No more so than we are taking away from "tradition" when we don an 8 yard tailored wool kilt that was the hight of victorian fashion.

Over time, whether we like it or not, skirted clothing will evolve. Kilts are no different. We can hold to a period for our personal tastes, but we can not expect others to do the same. People will have different views on what a kilt is... For some, it is a bit of cloth, belted around the middle, with the extra thrown this way or that way over the shoulder. For others, a highly tailored bit of clothing. For others, a symbol of sorts. It will continue to evolve over time. We can either embrace it, or be left behind. Things change.

Why bother marketing something as "unisex"? If women like it they will reach for it. On the other hand, there seems to be a tendency for men to want something that is truly their own-so why would they buy something that is "unisex"?
