Haven't seen her in a while. Exchanged a few emails, but not anything outside of that.

I just thought I would update this thread, since you were all so helpful with your comments and suggestions. Kelley and I had a night out for Carnival with these friends a few weeks ago, and the discussion turned to kilts and the wedding. My friend asked me if we were going to wear kilts (her husband Jim is in the wedding), and I said I thought we probably would. She expressed that she was excited to see us all dressed up in kilts and that she looked forward to it. Somehow she overcame her prejudice to it. When I asked her how she came about this change of heart, she really didn't have an answer. She just said she thought we were going to look really good in them, and she looks forward to it.
Perhaps it just took a little while for her to come around to the idea.
Thanks again.

I still think there's more to it than just that (hence my therory on Jim), but hey, If you're happy then we're happy...Might as well leave things as they are.

I'll have to go back and re-read, Chase. I forgot what your theory was.

Wear it when you want to wear it. If it seems to be coming between you and your friendship with Sonya let her know it and why. Straight up, just like you would if one of your guy friends carried on beyond just a little bit of ribbing. Friends should really be friends, and she should be able to get beyond this and move on.

When my guy friends go beyond the usual ribbing and get into truly giving me hell, I tell them they're about to get punched in the throat.
This is probably not an option here. >_>
The best thing you can do is endure, perservere, and enjoy your kilt. That will prove the worth of your garment without any effort on your part at all. If she is as bad as you say she is, I'm sure others are beginning to feel the way you do. "It's just a kilt. Chill, lady."
Does this girl have a crush on you? She seems awfully concerned with what you wear.

I wonder if this is just an American thing? I've never come across this kind of small minded attitude anywhere else in the world?
My general reaction to this sort of thing is to ignore it and wear the kilt anyway.

Well, I'm glad that she overcame it.
I wear my kilt wherever, whenever...until my parents say no...

And of course we all know just how "broad minded" Scots are, or would some Scots find my remark offensive? I know I take exception to your over reaching "just an American thing" comment.
