I Wear those hats because of Bernard the mouse.
    * I'm going to go ahead and remove the pictures from this post so I don't have to keep track of where they are, but Bernard the mouse can still be seen in my albums.
From the 1977 Disney movie "The Rescuers." J.B. Simpson provided the pictures.

It's all Bernard's falt! He forced me against my will to start wearing the flat caps after seeing the movie when I was four years old.

    * Picture removed and can be seen in the gallery or in my albums.
This is a picture of me thirty years after Bernard got ahold of me.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

My first flat cap was a medium green, but as I posted before, I had a Bernard doll when I was a kid, and the doll had a tartan like paterned hat. I wish I knew more than that. It was that burnt orange/red color, but had a black line and a lighter colored line. Perhaps it was a little like the Wallace tartan... I think the jacket on the dall was just a solid color

I don't know, it's been a while since I saw the movie, but I always thought he had a tweed cap. Like I say though, it's been forever since I saw it.

Ya, it was tweed in the movie, like in those pictures. It doesn't make that much difference. That orange-ish color doesn't look good on me anyway.

The whole movie is full of crazy witticisms like that. All done in rather weird settings in space. Just to keep the thread on topic, I think there was a bird in that movie, and birds have feathers.

Well! Speaking of birds in movies, remember that inflatable paret in one of those "Pink Panther" movies. It had a leak, and the inspector kept having to pump it up witha pump under his arm. I think he was dressed as a pirate or something, and at one point the bird got over filled and launched!

    Oh, those were funny movies...

    Indeed
Wasn't that one of the last ones Peter Sellers did before he passed away? (it's been a while).

I loved those films, and Sellers was such a talent (I love watching him, all 3 of him, in "Doctor Strangelove" -- classic!). What a loss.
