I bought a handful of their editions like the Jack London, Classics of Horror, Grimm Fairy Tales, and H.G. Wells versions, way back pre kindle. I would jump on this Lovecraft edition if I didn't have the 4 volume Arkham Press collection AND the Library of America selcted collection, as well as all his stuff on the kindle. The B&N books are nice, but I agree they don't quite have the level of lushness as say, my 50th anniversary edition of LOTR, which is what I'd want for yet another edition of Lovecraft (there is a book called "Necronomicon" which is more along the lines of what I'm talking about, not sure if it is a comprehensive colection though).

But for $20, not a bad deal! Don't care for the color cover though, the older B&N editions I have are more subdued. Though now that I think on it, maybe those are Borders books, not B&N ones. The customer complaint about typos worries me as well, smells of a lack of human proofreading.

No, you're quite right, the newest batch from B&N are quite garish compared to earlier releases, I have a complete Shakespeare, Sherlock Holmes, Poe, and a few others and NONE are multi-coloured like this. They are all just "gold" embossed covers and spines.

The customer complaints re:typos appears to be based on a 2008 edition, so we'll have to see if they've corrected the 2011 printing.

I'll have to agree. Luckily I was at home when I checked that link. I work in a courthouse, and occasionally check this site in downtime in the docket.

Now really. . .How could you POSSIBLY expect something pertaining to arcane subjects and forbidden knowledge which would blast the souls of ordinary mortals even to contemplate to be even remotely considered as possibly "Safe For Work"?!?

As the hour draws near, I can't help but wonder whether the impending Cthulhu tartan may stir the Great Old Ones... Here is a video offering the proper pronunciation of: "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" just in case anyone wants to practice...

Borrowing/adapting something directly from HPL, how 'bout "Unaussprechlichen Kilten"?

Only had to change one letter from "Unaussprechlichen Kulten":

The name is due to an effort of Lovecraft's to come up with a German translation of Nameless Cults.
