I'll certainly be dressed in my Irish Saffron when celebrating Samhain this year and honouring my ancestors.

So...if people who wear kilts are called "kilties", are people who celebrate Guy Fawkes night called...
wait for it...
...no, I won't say that here . But I'm thinking it, and it's pretty funny .
At the moment I'm just hoping I get my kilt in time for Halloween.

Snakes, Kilts and Halloween

A few years back I volunteered with a local national park branch here in Ohio, teaching kids about snakes, reptiles and other like critters. We had a snake who was QUITE fond of crawling down my leg when I wasn't paying attention and then coming up inside my kilt.
One learned to be ... careful.

And pay VERY close attention to the whereabouts of the snake...

I am going sailing with Piper George on Halloween. We're doing a short-ish Ocean race out here in California. It's likely that I won't get back in time to "do" Halloween.
But if I DO...
I'm going "Ren Faire" this year, with breeches, hose, hat, and pouffy shirt.

Let's try something different...
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Perhaps we could brainstorm and share ideas for some very cool and respectful kilted Halloween costumes?
A revenant Jacobite warrior?
Ghost Piper?
Devilish Highland Dancer?
Lazarus Long?
We are a creative bunch, so let's get creative
Cheers

Unfortunately, I'd have to question a)how you would do a Lazarus Long costume, and b)how many people in today's world would actually recognize it?

I know who Lazarus Long is, but am not sure I'd recognize him in a crowd! LOL

A) A tartan kilt, military shirt, engineer boots, and a bodacious babe on each arm, preferably twin redheads.
B) Good question.

I'll give you points on "A". That IS fun, regardless of whether or not anyone recognizes the character...
