Speaking of a really good feeling, I've heard a
kilt myth that scottish men don't wear anything
    under their kilts.

    Other kilt myths I've heard:

You can't make a kilt out of asymmetric plaid fabric.
    You can't hem a kilt.
    Kilts must have 3 buckles.
    Kilts must be wool.
    Kilts must be tartan.
Kilts must be X yards of fabric.
Kilts are not warm in winter.
You can't make a kilt out of a table cloth.

If I could jump back a bit on this thread, I was looking at the statues depicted representing Wallace. I wonder if they really ARE wearing kilts. The Gibson-looking one certainly seems to me more like he's wearing a "leine" under his armor, and over that a belted plaid.

No offense to any teachers in here, I'm just a product of American public education system, that acknowledge the fact that I didn't have one teacher that had enough sense to pour piss out of a boot

But to be fair here, I'm sure they're are some really good teachers out there too.
I am an American disabled veteran and a fifth grade public education teacher. I pride myself on being a great teacher. I know there are some bad ones out there, and I am sorry that you did not get properly educated. Blanket statements like that are pretty harsh- there are a lot more good teachers out there, who pour their hearts and souls into teaching, than the bad ones.

This is most certainly true. In 12 years of grade school I had exactly one weak teacher, and she was weak, not poor. All the rest were excellent save only the gym instructor who was not a teacher. In six years of college I had only one unsatisfactory professor and he was malicious not incompetent.

I think the way our culture fails to appreciate teachers is heinous.

The area I live in has some of the worst schools in the nation (and some of the highest dollar per student averages, so lack of money is not the cause). There are places with excellent under-paid, under-valued teachers. Then there is Arizona...
