Women in Kilts?

To all the ladies here ---

I am willing and able to do kilts with a left hand opening. I am also sinister and am a big advocate of left handed tools.

Compared to men, I expect that women will always have a much more diverse wardrobe.

Historically women's garb was much more boring and limited than those of men.

Because women look good in a far broader range of clothes than do men.

As a man, women look good in anything since women look good. Its called biology. Women, after all, bear children and the will (and instinct) to procreate makes them desirable. Its not just the survival instinct of the species to spread its DNA but children often meant labour and that meant land that could be tended and so also wealth.

Historically, however, as in the animal kingdom its the woman that decides who is going to mate. The queen bee does not get dolled up looking for a mate (but will sometimes kill rival queens) but its the drones that fight to have bits of their body ripped off during in-flight intercourse (bee sex is quite self-destructive for the drone). The queen of the hive, of course, does not rule but is created, nurtured and managed (ruled) by the hive to make offspring.

Its in this light also that men's garb has tended to be more lavish and embellished than those of women who often got boring shrouds to protect them from the wanting eyes of others--- sometimes even subjected to intentional deformation and mutilation to reduce their chances of wandering astray.

However, if traditional feminine garb is generally impractical, if attractive, we shouldn't be surprised when women reach for masculine styles.

Men's clothing is often hardly practical. Men just often want to think that its functional--- even when evidence shows how they are often not just impractical but also unhealthy. Clothing is fashion.

Well, about 3 pages ago, Panache suggested I make the final post in this thread.

This thread has provided a lot of knowledge and insight, but it has also caused a lot of strife. It may have been subdued and civilized strife, and generally opinions were respected, but it was strife none the less.

I for one won't be posting in this thread anymore, and most likely I won't even read it anymore. And so, as the fool who started the whole thing, I would like to officially ask that this thread be closed.
