antler tip kilt pin.jpg I like this antique antler tip kilt pin I ran across. I think it's probably from about the 1950's or earlier as the attachment is pretty primitive. I enjoyed a lot of the examples on this page in particular the round etched pins. Some great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

My first tartan I think will be the US Navy one. My plan is to use my ESWS (Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist) pin as the kilt pin, since it just sits in a drawer collecting dust anyway. I also have the aviation warfare pin, maybe I'll stack them or find something else to do with it.
for reverence, linking to a photo. At work right now.

These are my four pins.
The outmost right one (Hand of the King) exclusively goes on my Utilikilt. It's fairly heavy, with only a single-pin closure, so the tough fabric of the Utilikilt is the best to handle it. I realize a UK doesn't really need a kilt pin, but I think it looks a bit nicer that way.
As for the rest, I wear whichever I like best at the time. Mostly been wearing the most left one recently (House Stark sigil), since that takes my fancy at the moment.

Here's my latest "kilt pin". Okay, it's not strictly a kilt pin. But that's how I'm gonna use it!
Here's one I made from Hobby Lobby stuff. Did the job although it's a bit jingly.

That is a Star Trek Insignia. Makes a nice kilt pin but I have had problems with the clips on the back pulling off. I think I am going to turn this one into a magnetic mount. I will have to epoxy a steel washer on the back as the insignia itself is non-magnetic.

I wished to add this simple pin. It's a horse blanket pin that was literally 'found' It's a nice thick and heavy pin and I like its' quality and heft. kilt pin.jpg

Any pin is a kilt pin if that's how you're going to use it.
It doesn't have to be expensive and it doesn't have to be fancy.
Check the post above mine, for instance. It's a safety pin on there! Or check my post earlier where I also have a pin of a show I like (the House Stark pin).
