    Thumbs up

I've got the black one too - for the price it's great, nice and warm too.
Got mine from a company based in Birmingham.

From the picture, it looks like you got a lot of kilt for the price. I own a couple of inexpensive light weight kilts and found they offer some versatility in that department. Judging from the photo, it looks like the weather man is being gentle on you. (It was -16c here overnight.)

    Lightweight Mercy Kilt

Definitely a good buy; wearing it again today. I'm finding it very comfortable to wear. Been to the supermarket and left the car there while I walked all the way along the main street to the post office, met lots of people I knew. As others have said it is surprisingly warm for such a lightweight garment. The weather here is colder today and I needed to wear a wool pullover on top of my tee shirt. One old gentleman asked me why I was wearing a kilt with no tartan and I told him it was a modern lightweight casual kilt and showed him that it only has about half the number of pleats of a proper Scottish kilt. He said it looked very appropriate. They seem to be selling well on e-bay and you can also get them from Kate's Clothing of Birmingham, who also offer PVC kilts for those who would prefer that to the polyester, so hopefully we will see more of them around.

I got mine on ebay through this guy,

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/fredonline321

And he has multiple styles available from solid black to pinstripe to Royal Stewart and more....

He's very quick on the shipping as well and getting them from the UK has taken less than a week.

No offence, but when taking a piccie you might try to set it up a bit,
the fence in the foreground tends to dominate, whereas YOU are the subject.

If you are taking the piccie yourself and have less control over the composition, then look at image software that will allow you to crop the image. (www.cerious.com)

Buy a simple book on photography and composition and you'll soon take wonderful digital piccies that show off the kilt so well.
Hope you don't mind me saying so.

I was thinking the very same thing.

I am interested to hear your further take on it as you wear it more.
I wear it a lot around the house as its very light and casual; so much so that I bought a second identical one. I've also worn these lightweight kilts out and about a few times including a day trip to York and I now regularly wear them to the supermarket for the weekly shop. The slightly longer length compared with a made to measure kilt makes for better modesty and helps them behave in the wind. Although the style of the pleating and the type/weight of material is reminiscent of old fashioned schoolgirl skirts I have never had any problems with anyone perceiving it as a skirt rather than a man's kilt. I am continually having to remove loose threads from the fringe which is an area which will deteriorate quickly and on one of the kilts I had to resew a belt loop which came loose after just one wearing. So I'd say fair value for the money and OK if you just want a cheap kilt for casual wear, but in comparison the black watch which I bought from Union Kilts for a similar price is much better quality.
