I totally know who Bruce is. He wears the kilt very well.
As far as my father getting a new kilt....I was thinking more of a new one for me first ;) I don't own a tank....yet!

Bruce is a good bud of a guy I worked with in Truro. He's been wearing the same kilt for 8 years, day in and day out.

Stupid question, is it possible to come for a visit sometime and see your wares in person? Alternatively, will you have anything at the games in Summerside?

You can come up anytime, although the only wares I have, are those on my body, and those I'm making. I'm shoestring at the moment, but that should change shortly, hopefully. Gotta go mortgage the kids for $$. Everything is custom-made. Give me a buzz (# on the www), I'm sure we can work something out $-wise.

Re. Bruce: gotta get that man into some proper hose! And sweater. Butterfly Garden: nope, not yet. My bud is supposed to be coming up for the Games, he's an artist (painter), Bruce wants him to do some work on the new property.

that'd be great, thanks Moosehead. Maybe I'll talk my father into going for a drive on the weekend. I'll let you know one way or another.

    Cheers,

I Hope Bruce washes that this occasionally!
8 Years of body funk-> Yeesh!!!

I just had to have someone post not from Prince Edward Island.

I was wondering, Moosehead, how wide (diameter) is the bonnet overall, and also your head?

I am also making my own bonnets, as well as converting store bought berets (a good way to make a decent looking balmoral for $5-$10). The ones so far are 11 inches across overall (based on the measurement of a $50 balmoral). An old-style bonnet I have from the Scottish Tartan Museum on Franklin, NC, USA is MUCH wider- about 13.5 inches.

Also, how tall is that band? It looks rather short, but well proportioned.

For other readers, Thompson's "So Your Going to Wear the Kilt" has a good appendix that tells how to make a torrie out of wool yarn. Simple, but essential, to make a cheap beret look less Monica and more Balmoral. (as I typed this, Monica and Bill Clinton appeared on TV in a commerial!! :lol)

This is my 12 year old daughter. I have to teach her how to smile.
Nice hat prototype. By the way, I'm not sure 12 year old daughters smile... at least not in my neck of the woods...

That's just what I was thinking. I do like the looks of it.
