Tartans Coffee?
get it?
tarts and coffee???
get it?
could always get in a real fight and call it MacDonalds , i mean, with the right tartan flag and all..
i had a friend call his place McDunns, or the like, mickey D's came down on that one, and his name matched, scots and all,,
but then these are the same people that tried to get a 200 year old restaurant in england to give up it's name, said it would confuse a descerning clientelle..
i stopped eating at macdonny's since..
good luck with the kilt wearing..
i work for myself, and wear a kilt anytime i please...

What an exciting adventure. It will be a lot of long hours and much hard work. But at least you will be calling the shots.
Without trying to be presumptuous, here's a couple of ideas...
Tartan Cafe'
or
Bravehearts Coffee Pub
or
Kilt n Caber Cafe'
or
Pipes Up!
or
The Brave Kiltee
Good luck with your enterprise.

Something Scottish or Irish theme would be cool, and could incorpurate the kilts and the business plan, but without making the kilt the main attraction.
It would also be cool to use some of your experiences in the middle east to find a name.
All great ideas. The plan right now, is that the theme of the coffee shop be the PSD tartan. Menues, table cloths etc. I myself plan to be kilted, but would not require anyone else to. As a kind of bling for the place, I may have some photos of me in Iraq, or some Iraqi cultural items on display. The coffee shop book I am reading really stresses that coffee terms be in the name. Java, Coffee, Latta etc. So, Until I come up with something better, Highland Coffee will do for planning purposes.
As a non-kilt related issue, I am in the process of writing my book of my experiences of being in Iraq. It is called, The Infidel. And of course the plan is to have the Operation Iraqi Freedom: PSD Tartan as the cover of the book. There will be a shelf in the coffee shop dedicated to it.

thrice boiled in one of those nifty little pots...
i got one, can't remember what it was called...
if you've never tried it, hold onto whatever you have and drink it sweet and hot..
( just a LITTLE milk to help it down when needed...)
oh god...
actually, that would be how God drinks it..
it's so good..

There is an excellent organic cafe in Mimico, Toronto, called "Birds n Beans" so how about "Kilts n Beans"?

I would think Starbucks would be on the cutting of open-mindedness. I would think that a black or kahki kilt would fit in perfect with their frame of thought. If you make it UK's, another Seattle product, how could they refuse?

The plan was to go kilted, but I had not herd back from three other stores. I was wearing....Pants...on my motorcycle when I walked in, handed in my application, and walked out. Three minutes later, I received a call on my cell phone that said, "can you come back in and interview"? I was hired on the spot. If she had called and said, come back tomorrow, I would have.

But the most important thing -- in the interview did you mention working kilted? Enquiring minds want to know!!
