Is he the ringbearer or actually in the wedding party in some way? If so, then he should match the party. If not, then why do the jacket at all? let the guy wear his kilt and the jacobite shirt and call it good.....unless it's outdoors of course, and he'll freeze his buns off.

my sister mailed the shirt and kilt so i dont want to upset her...
Tux shirt, bow tie, & PC for the ceremony, then loose the coat and tie and change to the Jacobite shirt for the less formal part of the reception; and take a good pic to send to Sis.
