Just like any other clothing item. I have in my closet a variety of shirts, from t-shirts to custom made dress shirts. Each has their purpose, and over time, they seem to grow.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Ah, there's no turnin' back now. You are in for the long haul, I suspect. In for a penny, in for a pound. (And the pounds tend to add up quickly.) . . . I can't think of any more cliches right now.
Congrats on your choice of tartan. I predict you will soon be chronically poor like the rest of us.

Congrats on the new kilt. I still need to get one from Rocky some day.

Don't sweat this. Yes, you can wear any tartan you like. But for some people, they might not "like" a tartan unless they have a connection to it. For me, because there are so many tartans available, that is a way to limit my choices to match my limited budget.

Congratulations on your first kilt. Just curious, what did you choose as a tartan for your first kilt? I am sure whatever you decided will be great.
I'm sure you fill find other tartans over time that you want whether it be scottish family tartans, district tartans, etc
Welcome to the family

That picture looks like the Douglas Grey tartan. Am I right? I have this tartan as well.
