That doesn't surprise me much. I accessed the site through a "special sale" email that probably had a cookie included in the link. I've noticed prices change when I access the site through different emails; I've even seen the price in my shopping basket change after I put something there, just because I went back through another email link! I think it just registers a cookie for the last sale link you've used and adjusts everything accordingly.

Got these in yesterday, and I like them. The Olive is almost a gray-black color and the Honey Brown is very golden/mustard in color. I wore the olive pair last night and found them be quite comfortable. They don't come up as high as I'd like, but do an okay turn-down at the top.
I would post pictures, but it will have to wait until I get a shirt to coordinate with these.

re Haukehaiens's comments about the length...I have been assuming that these are the same as the Bridgedale Blaxnit socks that I got over a year ago...now I wonder if that's the case...I usually have to do three "turnovers" to get a nice cuff at the right height; sounds like these might be a bit shorter if you're only doing one "turnover". Whatever the case, I hope that they're as thick as the ones I have...they're downright plush.

ps: those were called Blaxnit Garland Cup socks, by the way...I guess that "blaxnit" is more of a line that Bridgedale makes rather than just one type of sock.

I ordered a pair of the dark yellow socks that arrived today. They had a sticker that said they were imperfects, a fact not made known in the company's advertisement. I tried them on and found that they do not spring back into shape, but stay baggy after they are taken off. The top has a single thread holding the knitting in place, so when it goes, the sock will unravel. I don't think they will last long. You get what you pay for...and sometimes less.

If you go back and look, you will see that the ad copy does indeed say "2nds."
I got mine as well - both colors. They are identical to the red pair I bought last year, and those have held up just fine; if they do become baggy, they'll tighten back up when you wash them (I would, however, handwash them). I'm not worried about them becoming baggy myself, as I only wear kilts casually, with sock pushed down - baggy is good.

How fast do I go through socks?
Several factors:
How well do your shoes fit?
How much do you walk?
Are they wool? I've found that socks with a high wool content last longer than the others. I can only assume that this is because of the wicking ability of wool...wear tends to occur where there's friction and there's just not a lot of friction with well fitting shoes and wool socks.
