My wife is a little strange about it. Got the first one and she was fine when it was just going to highland games. Told her about the second and the great deal so she said go for it. BUT, she doesn't seem to want me to wear it when we just go out somewhere. Go figure.

I was lucky. My wife had been bugging me for twa years to get a kilt and then when I got it it was unfinished and needed heming and it sat around for three months before it got done and I got to wear it. Marilyn has bought me three of the Nine kilts I have. It sure is great to have a wife that knew I was out there when we got married

How old are the kids? If old enought what did they say?

My girl loves my kilts. And she also like the attention I get from the other girls when I wear it. Go figgure. She says its great, because they love guy in the kilt, but shes the one that has him lol girls are interesting

I can never understand why some people's wives have a problem with the kilt. Would you refuse to be seen with her if she chose to wear trousers? Styles change. I look back at our old photos and see a young man in trousers and a young lady in skirts. Nowadays she wears trousers almost every day and I wear kilts almost every day. It seem I am fortunate that my wife encouraged me to get my first kilt and is continually telling me how she likes to see me wearing them every day. Though I think if a wife isn't keen on the idea of you in a kilt to begin with, and has never seen you in a kilt before it may take a bit of time for her to get used to the concept that you are going to wear kilts.

It may not be be a question of being lucky. For me it is simply a fact that my wife loves me (also when) kilted.
She does occasionally tease me for spending longer time getting ready to go out together (as I also have longer hair than her), though. In discussing kilts, she loves to point out the masculinity of the kilt. And, last but not least, she gets a kick out of the attention I get from other women - "jepp, he is my guy!"

Wore my kilt for the first time... when she got home, i'm in the living room with my new SWK Irish National and the black sporran... Came as a shock to her.

Ahhhh yes... the old "right between the eyes" approach. Never worked too well for me though.

... She needs time to get used to it, i think. her words were: "You're not wearing that thing out with me."

Then you threaten the same thing if she's wearing blue jeans. Fair is fair.

I lucky, my wife is dissapointed when I don't wear a kilt. Makes it easier to wear one most of the time. Good luck to you.
