I think I'll celebrate with a picture of a chili dog (trying to control my weight and cholesterol - you'll get there one of these days)!

Funny you should ask...
I had decided to go ahead and have it pleated to the yellow (seemed most traditional) based on most peoples comments.
Then in the last two weeks there was a rash of postings here with kilts pleated to the dominant color (no stripe), the way I had originally suggested to Rocky. I decided that that was how I really wanted it, and it was my kilt darn it. So I e-mailed Rocky last monday and said go for it.
He e-mailed back Tue morning saying that he was about to get started, but...The tartan, when it finally came in had a smaller sett that he had thought he was ordering (4.4" vs 5.5"), and he was reccomending that everyone pleat to sett since that would give a deeper pleat.
I thought about it, and then decided to go ahead with the no stripe pleat, and I'm just going to live with the shallowness. On Thursday, it occurred to me that maybe I could live with fewer pleats and have two repeats under each pleat (my Tank is like this with a 4.5" sett), but I decided that it was too late and didn't contact Rocky. As it is the pleats should be comparible to my nightstalker SWK with it's 3.5" sett pleated to sett, so the pleats should be about 2" deep.

Which branch? Well, I served in the Department of the Navy . . . the Men's Department, as they like to say! Served with some pretty sharp soldiers, I think the tartan's wicked cool and stunningly good looking, and I wanted to emphasize that whole "working together" thing (a la Red Mike Carlson and 'gung ho').
Plus, from reading either Manchester or "With the Old Breed at Peliliu" I picked up on a secondary meaning of "semper fi" from the Pacific campaigns: "I've got mine." As in, "Hey buddy, can I borrow a cigarette?" "Semper fi, mac."
Pics look great---and I think that's the first time I've ever seen your face!

Something tells me that KC better not wear that Army tartan to tomorrow's kilt night. I have pleanty of room in my suitcase to bring it back to where it belongs, an ARMY family living in an ARMY town.

The Air Force Academy is near the Springs... but so is Fort Carson.
