Congradulations!!!!
An old 'Nam vet gave me some advice when I was leaving for boot camp way back in 1981, and it worked well for me then, so I am passing it on - use it as you see fit.
"Keep your eyes open, and your mouth shut"
Simple I know, but you would be surprised ......
Best of luck!

I honor everyone who makes the choice to serve, particularly those who have other options -- for if we leave national defense to those who have no other choice, we'll get the military we deserve.
And I'll echo that advice -- at least while in boot camp, you can not go far wrong by limiting your verbalizations to "Yes, sir," "No, sir," and "No excuse, sir!"
Good luck, and enjoy your service!

Congratulations on your choice!
And although I've not received my U.S. Army kilt yet, I'm doubting the greens would match well. Although I do plan on trying to find a Blue Mess Jacket which only appears to need epaulets added (assuming you're wearing a fly plaid) although I'd have to verify this in person.

The end is nigh. The day of the pirate is passing. Service not servitude, Dude.
