Just to keep everyone informed, the general climate created in the OP has brought this thread more than a fair share of staff attention.

It is a product review. Perldog007 has had his say and we will see if Jerry at SWK wants to respond.

    As a reminder -

    Is what it is.......

Didn't mean to get anyone at the OP or anywhere else in an uproar. I recieved what I felt was a sub par product. I was insulted that anyone would submit such an item to me for purchase. It was kilt related, I heard about it here, and I posted my thoughts here.

As a waiter, croupier, cab driver and other service jobs we've done, if you insult a consumer with the quality of your goods or service you may hear about it.

Everybody who has handled this item, (6 today) can see that the beltloop is crooked, the sides of the main compartment are crooked, the zipper on the the pocket flap is crooked, and in general it exudes shoddy workmanship.

That such an item can come from a factory I can understand. I work in a warehouse. That a person with order in hand would pick such an item and ship it I really do not understand. I work in a warehouse.

Now if anybody thinks I am being too harsh on Jerry and they want to wear a lopsided crooked hanging sporran. I will buy it for them. I have it here with me. I will pay the shipping. This is a sincere offer.

The money involved is secondary to perceived insult that somebody would send me something like that. Sure it would be nice to get the bread back, but it is the principle of the thing.

Many of you seem to have had good experiences with Jerry. I am glad for you. I did not. Had I , that is what would have been posted.

    Best
    Doug

    OP = Original Post

Your review is available in that Original Post. There are good product reviews and there are poor product reviews, we allow them all.

As a waiter, croupier, cab driver and other service jobs we've done, if you insult a consumer with the quality of your goods or service you may hear about it.
Yes, you certainly may hear about it. But have you ever seen anyone refuse to exit a cab, because they wanted to gripe at the cabbie a while longer? How many dissatisfied restaurant customers spend an evening tagging along behind their server to gripe about poor service?

What I was trying to point out (apparently in too gentle a manner, which is terribly out of character for me) was that we have your product review and now we have multiple follow-ups on that review. Take a quick read back through the thread. Do you not feel you got your point across in that Original Post?

I don't have a problem with anyone posting a negative review. I've worked in wholesale/retail sales for over 34 years, so I am perfectly aware that things don't always end up the way everyone wants them. And the negative reviews are what allow a company to improve its products and its customer service.

But there also reaches a time when a negative review turns into a rant. And then it loses its ability to help anyone. I don't like to hear from an unhappy customer, but it is sure a lot easier dealing with a disappointed customer that can accept and understand mistakes ~do~ happen.

Let me make myself a bit more clear this time around. This is a product review thread. You have reviewed the product (repeatedly). We are all aware of how you feel about the product you received. What more do you hope to convey? Will another post help us to understand that you demanded perfection and didn't get it? Or will it take two more posts? Or three?

Let's give it a rest and see if Jerry from SWK has any comments in response.

I'm going to request that everyone else leave this thread alone. This one is reserved for Perldog007 and Jerry alone. No other posting, OK?

play on words. Sorry it didn't take.

Sorry M8, I have had editorials published in diverse venues like the Jerusalem Post online and our little Cape Gazzette in print. I thought I was in a discussion forum

Pretty much, thought I was participating in an ongoing discussion . You have never heard a point revisited or beaten to death in a discussion?

Demand perfection? Who is hijacking what here Mike? If you read demanding perfection no amount of posting will help I fear.

    Let me make myself clear.

My goal was to vent my feelings, hear others and get some discussion going. Apparently the members think this was a random happenstance not a general mode of doing business.

I posted about my experience with kilt related stuff, others told of their experience I learned something good days work.

    Good enough for me.

    Cool.
    Good night.
    Peace.
