I spent most of the afternoon doing a google search of this area and yellow pages. Oddly, for a city this size, there's nothing indicated. I've got a couple of ideas. A local goldsmith, Bellchamber, has done some custom work for us, I'll ask him. There's a guy at work who makes knives, I'll track him down. (Interesting story with him. He was caught making knives at work, his supervisor had turned a blind eye if it during down time. Another supervisor nailed him but accused him of using the armour plate to make knives. Buddy insisted they prove that, they couldn't because armour is proprietary, ha. He got off with a warning.)
Anyway, now the project has got more interesting. My blanks came today, very nice.

Well, my African Blackwood came today. So there's some progress.
I've tried hardening the blades but I think I'm quenching too early, it's not passing the file test. I've got the transparent past cherry red but I guess I should be going for more orange.
I'm trying to get some material from Masecraft or K&G but they don't seem to be answering emails (two over a week). Anybody recommend somebody who is interested in doing business?
