Sadly, have made similar responses myself and know that adrenalin rush...and the long long time between when I could convince the bad guy not to be moving for his own well being and the time the police arrive to take over.

And, I also serve on the local board of directors of our local agency that helps ladies who aren't so lucky as to have the bad guy run off or be rescued by a brave neighbor.
