I'd love to have one made. My grandmother was 1/2 Navajo.

I saw that. My girlfriend comes through town tomorrow on her adventures and I'm gonna ask her about what she may be able to round up in the way of a knifemaker down in Hopi. Would be 7 with me.

Hey Ron - does your mini K-Bar have a metal blade?

The one I found at the PX here, is plastic or maybe nylon. Made to be a letter opener, and not useful in cutting anything, so also sort of useless as a sgian dubh.

    Probably the same thing James,

It is made to be a letter opener. I guessed its aluminum. sort of a sgian don't.

I like it for the message the handle sends sticking out of the top of the kilt hose. Semper Fi. Would be cool if one were made with real steel.

Kathy Lare's husband Rob gathered up a few of the "letter opener" ones and made leather sheaths for them with the EGA logo. He was selling them at her booth at games a few years ago. Not sure if they're still available. They're a Marine family. You could email her off her website www.kathyskilts.com

But the message for me is in the visible handle.

And, will see my lady tonight as she comes through town with her visiting friend and ask her about Hopi knifemakers.
