I have a question, the black tombstone on the lower edge of the first picture shows the name McClung. My stepchildren are descended from the McClungs on their father's side. The only information I have been able to find on this family is that the name is found in Galloway.
Do you know if the McClungs are part of any clan? I have been unable to find any connection.
Sorry I hadn't noticed that detail in the photo. No I don't know anything about the name McClung. There appear to be quite a few names beginning Mc such as McClung which originated in the south-west corner of Scotland, where there was no formal clan system such as in the highlands, and being relatively remote from the highlands they neither ran with any of the highland clans nor gave their names to septs. My wife's direct ancestors include the names McGaan, McWhirter, McMurtrie, McNidder, and McIlmorrow.
