Las Vegas, Nevada may offer less expensive air fares and plenty of housing. And its drivable for "ME" and the rabble in Southern California. Thought there was a good turnout of X Marks at the Las Vegas games this year...

This is a really great idea, Chase. If this happens, may i propose Chicago for the first weekend?

Well, I haven't received any blessings, nor have I been told to stop the discussion, so I guess in the interest of my interest...I placed a poll to determine the best location to host the 1st Annual XMTS Kilt weekend...Please select a city and provide a reason other than it's closest to you...LOL...I chose Toronto, Ontario and I live in Houston...My reason is there seems to be quite a bit of kilted activity on that side of the map and I'm hoping for a larger gathering.

Sorry to say, but none of those options look inviting to me.
Maybe Las Vegas, but it's not on the list.

James,
Sorry about that...Ron also mentioned LV, but the poll would only allow 10 choices and I typed in the most used airports on a search engine and with the exception of NY and Baltimore, these were the choices available...I will hold anyones selection outside of the poll (independtly) and replace the lowest selected airport with the highest independent choice, if that will make things fair?
Anything to win a crowd or make a new friend.

You know what they say - "Can't please all the people all the time!"
With enough advance notice and planning - any location would/could work.
What happened to the idea of a boat cruise?

I cast my vote for Austin, Texas. The city is pretty open minded, and we have a choice of several Celtic pubs to go to.

First you have to attend the get together at the Tilted Kilt in Houston, Texas on Jan 10, 2008 so we can discuss it in further detail...LOL.
Best Regards,

Wow. This would be a logistical nightmare. With that being said I voted for Toronto - Grant could organize it.
