Moosedog, is this part of the TubaChristmas movement/phenomenon?

I knew the original instigator, a long time ago. There's a hilarious story of how the first concert was put together at Rockefeller Center.

The one in Salem tomorrow is part of the movement and is listed at the website. But Springfield's (held a couple of weeks back) evolved separately, I believe. I'll check around. Tuba players are an interesting lot. Thanks for the links, I will read further!

My son Ben plays tuba (1st chair in his section of the 7th grade) and has been wearing a kilt too. Not at the same time yet though. I am quite proud of him !
