The costume ones aren't "proper" and tend to look goofy. They can pass for the sassenach crowd who don't know better. Fortunately, the crofters here tend to understand doing things on the cheap if they are done properly.

If you are from Kirkcaldy then why not come to Embra and go to Victoria Street (it goes from the Grassmarket up to George IV bridge). There is a shop there that specialises in old lace and they might even have a jabot or two.

Cos, I'm looking for CHEAP! Anyway, the montrose doublet did come with a jabot set. See the post on formal kilt hose for a pic of me in it on page 3.

Although I have to admit a bit of trepidation when they say:
Lace Jabot & Cuffs (white), Mens.
Suitable for attaching to evening shirt. Looks wonderful worn with the Prince Charlie Jacket and Vest.
