    Seeking jabot source.

I was wondering if there is an inexpensive source for the Jabot collar and cuff sets? They seem to come in at around US$170/£85 for a set.

Any place I can get them for less?

Lady Rathdown informs me that she made mine for about $75 including lunch with her friends Dagmar and Iona. I suspect the actual manufactured cost was probably around $10-$15, and the rest was eaten up in overheads. Literally.

    thank you.

I can already tell you ebay isn't a good source for Jabots.

I am considering J. Higgins's shirt. I was hoping for separates though rather than a whole shirt.

    Try out this site: http://www.buycostumes.com/Category/...uctDetail.aspx

I dont' know if it's as fancy as J. Higgins's, but it'll work for $12.50!

I was lucky enough to acquire a shirt with nice cuffs and jabot. I don't see them costing $150 unless they are made with handmade lace, which I doubt. There couldn't be more than $10 worth of material and an hours worth of labor involved. I found one set of costume type and some others. Good luck in the hunt.

I've got a pattern I could share. I was going to make some before I acquired my shirt.

Kinloch Anderson do them but they are pricey - http://www.kinlochanderson.com/shop/...ly-adjustable/

Why don't you try making one. You just need a T-shaped piece of cloth with velcro to fasten the top of the T that goes around your neck. Then get a strip of lace (raid your granny's clothes cupboard or visit second hand shops) about a foot long & six inches wide and sew it onto the bottom part of the T in a kind of zig-zag getting wider as you go down like a cone shape. Hey that sounds really easy - I might even try it myself.

Here is a simple jabot & cuffs just using some old lace curtain material - http://www.peo.gov.au/teachers/toolkit/miy_jabot.pdf
