But is it accurate to compare a picture when he was made up for a film part with one when he wasn't?
There are many male actors who look wonderful on screen and terrible in real life - make up can work both ways.
But the first photo, the one with the makeup, was 20 years ago. The one next to it is now, in real life. So he currently looks just as good as he did 20 years ago with makeup!

Yes he looks good shame he's retired from acting.

About ten years ago, I sat across from him in the British Airways lounge in Heathrow. He looked even better then in the flesh than he does in a photo.

I think Trefor's point was that the first photo showed Connery made up to look older than he was at the time.

In that case, the makeup artist was remarkably prescient. I do detect a little bit of work done in the newer photo, however. Whether you're in New York, Spain, or the Caribbeans, not everything is as it appears to be when you're from Hollywood.

Aging well, I think he looks better now than 20 years ago!
I was disappointed he wouldn't come out of retirement for the soon to be released Indiana Jones flick.

No - he was obviously busy with someone, but I watched as a group of Australians tied to first buy him a drink (drinks are free in the lounge!). Then they came back with a napkin for an autograph.
I was more than happy to be just seated that close. You don't often get a chance to be so close to a celebrity.

Yes it was - it would appear to be when he played Indy's father in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

It was the same on some of Sean's films when they were doing their best to make him younger - his later Bond ones for example, especially on his hair.
