Divide them, you can do that? Do I just cut off a part at the stem?

So much to do this time of year in the yard!

[You might try mixing a liquid pepper concoction to spray near the Hosta’s to keep the pesky rabbits away, if not B.B. or pellet guns work wonders, and you can always can the meat.

OC pepper spray that you buy for personal protection has a shelf life. If you have some that needs replaing, it is a great critter deterant. Just spray where you don't want them, or spray the object they are chewing on. Also, it has a bit of an oily base, so it won't wash off in the rain as quickly as a water based substance.

When they get way big (bigger than yours are now - maybe twice that size) they need to be dug up, and split in half. Replant one half, put the other half somewhere else.

Like with most perenials, if you don't divide them, the center of the plant will die back. You do it about every four to six years in the early spring (just as they are starting to come up). You can also do it in the fall, but I've not had good luck with that.Directions

Nice work on the garden. This weekend was a work weekend for us, although we did take Monday off and attend the Observance at the New Bern National Cemetery. Sat/Sun we put in 108 feet of fence. This is what it looks like.
