Here are the completed pics. My wife wasn't home when I took these so I don't have a picture of if on my model (me).

I have left the original buttons on the jacket. I am after a somewhat casual look since I will not have any occasions for wearing it to formal occasions, but I am open to suggestions.

Here are the vents. I didn't have much fabric to work with, but this is also not much less that the amount of fabric in the original center vent.

There are no stains on the vents, the brown marks didn't show up until I posted the pics here. BTW, the fabric underneath the jacket is for my next kilt. It is darker than shows up under the jacket, but it is a darker grey twill fabric (like Dockers). I thought that I might wear the kilt with this jacket for a more casual look. Kinda like khaki s***ks with a sports jacket.

Sounds good. I left the origenil buttons on mine too because it is for daywear. There are several places to get buttons on line, though, if you decide to replace them.

Hopefully the fabric behind the vent does the job. Glad it worked out, and congratulations.

And good luck on yours, Sionnach. Hope it comes out well.

I like the look of the original buttons. If you were going to add buttons to the flaps of the pockets, then I would recommend replacing all of the buttons.

    Wear it well.

Your jacket looks great! Having seen your and some others I wonder if I took too soft a curve on mine.

I took my Argyll with me to the alteration shop so they would have a model to work from. Yours looks very nicely done- to my eye at least.

Trying to figure out a way to make the curve shape drove me nuts.
