I've also got a short Hudson Bay Blanket coat that I found in an antique shop in Kennebunk, Maine. I've never worn it with my kilt, though...
That is a GREAT looking Blanket shirt

BTW, THANK you for postng the pic of your HBC. I was looking for a pic of this to illistrate " the "Mackinaw style" I think you will like wearing it with a kilt.

Interesting...I had no idea that my HBC was a "Mackinaw" style.

BTW, here's a better pic of my ECW blanket shirt. Sorry about the (bifurcated legwear)...

Actually it is not, in the "true historical sense" The "original Mackinaw coat" was made by soldiers under Capt. Chas. Roberts during the war of 1812. I seems his men had NO warm coats, so he got hold of some HBC blankets & they made some. The original were patterned after the British issue Greatcoat. But over the years the jacket became shorter. During WWII a Mackinaw was issued & today the name is synonymous with this style. (Filson is the most famous for this style.

    BTW, the Shirt is GREAT.
