But just as your fiancé will try on her dress before the big day to check the fitting etc., so you also need to try your kilt!
Just as you won't see her trying her dress on just make sure she doesn't see you trying your kilt in!

Great! I remember the feeling. You might want to practice sitting down with the kilt on. Took be a while to get it to be second nature. I still can't do the car thing properly.

Boy, you REALLY did it! Top of the line. You are gonna be so pleased when it arrives.
The jones for a Kathy Lare kilt can be rough...you know you don't have to worry about not getting the kilt on time from her...but the wait....usually about 8 weeks....is soooo difficult. Only solution I ever found for the jones is to throw myself into finding and buying accessories...
An heirloom for sure.

Wow, Ron. I thought I had a problem with kilts. I see that is not really the case.
Enjoy, and I am anxious to see the pics. I have not purchased a Clark tartan kilt yet, and am interested in seeing how it turns out. I think you have done yourself a favour by buying a hand made one.

I'm really looking forward to it, and thanks for the suggestions Ron, it really helped me make my final decision. I guess in the meantime I'll just help the jones along by wearing my other kilts (should be getting my 2nd SWK Black Stewart in the mail today) and purchasing more stuff!
I'll definitely try it on when she's not around. That may be the time for me to sneak in a photo or two...

Congratulations to you and your fiance. Looking forward to seeing the photos.
You may have to try it on three or four times, just to make sure you have correct for the wedding.

Congratulations to you and your fiancé. I was in the same boat as you this year and last year. I ordered my tank in July 2007. It arrived in October, but the wedding was not until April 12, 2008. So there it sat all of that time. I was not allowed to wear it because it was for the wedding. However, I did manage to try it on several times when she was not home. Also, I spent the other months piecing together the rest of the outfit. So good luck and I wish both of you a lifetime of happiness together. PM me if you need any wedding advice.
One thing to keep in mind, make sure your groomsmen know how to wear a kilt if they are renting so you don’t spend all day helping them get dressed. It can add more stress to an already stressful day.

Being from Albuquerque I really need to check Kathy's shop out, but I afraid I'd go crazy! Congratualtions on the wedding and the kilt, both should last forever!

Ahh.. Another Clark!
Our second son was married a month ago in Lake Placid. He initially wanted kilts, but only Clark tartan. That would have been for himself, his brother and for me. He gave up the idea on being too expensive.
I first heard about Kathy's kilts from a couple for whom I did premarital counseling this summer. The groom is getting one from her for their wedding in Arkansas on Nov 29. I understand, and affirmed here, that her work is very good. I'm going to check with her when I get ready for a handmade kilt.
